FAQ

  • How does a rental work?

We operate by appointment only, so you must first make a reservation online or by phone. After you reserve your ebikes we meet you at 1470 Ben Sawyer Boulevard or we can deliver to you.

  • What tour should I pick?

All of our tours are awesome because we show our riders the "real charleston", the beautiful places off the beaten path enjoyed by locals. Our routes take riders on scenic routes to Old Village, Shem Creek, Sullivan's Island, IOP, & Patriot's Point. If you've already got your beach day planned, do something different & choose the Harbor eBike tour where you will likely see dolphin and incredible wildlife. Staying downtown and wanting to see the beach? Do the Shores tour & if you're an OBX fan definitely do the outer banks tour. They are all amazing and a local guide gives you happenings of the day and invaluable recommendations for your trip.

  • What's your Cancellation Policy

Full Refunds for cancellations until 24 hours before your rental or tour. No refunds for cancelations inside of 24 hours before your rental or tour.

Yes. You can select delivery as you complete the reservation. All deliveries include drop off and pick up. Delivery is free for overnight rentals and $59 for daily rentals. All riders must be present at the time of delivery to sign a wavier and recieve a quick tutorial of operation.

All daily deliveries require a full day rental and a 9am or 10am start time.

All pickups will be after 5pm.

  • Can minors/children ride?

Yes. Minors must be 5' or taller to ride and must be accompanied by an adult. We're happy to allow somebody shorter than 5' to join a tour or rental, but please call ahead of booking so we can reserve a trailer or tag along ($40/day).

  • What is the minimum height to ride?

The minimum height for riders to comfortably ride is 5 feet tall. We have consistently found that riders that are shorter than 5' feel uncomfortable on our eBikes. We're happy to allow somebody shorter than 5' to join a tour, but please call ahead of booking so we can reserve a trailer or tag along.

  • How many people are allowed on a tour?

Minimum 2 people, maximum 25 people.

  • What is your refund policy if weather is bad?

At the time of your reservation, if the weather doesn’t permit for safe riding, we can fully refund the rental.

  • What do we do if it starts raining at the beginning of our scheduled tour or rental?

On the day of the tour or rental, we will provide a 1-hour notice prior to the start of the tour or rental.

If the weather does not permit, we can reschedule or issue a full refund of the tour or rental purchased.

  • What is the range of the EBikes?

The range per charge is about 20-45miles depending on how hard you pedal and how fast you are going.

  • Can I demo an E-Bike?

We operate as an on-demand rental company, so rental is required to demo an E-Bike. This is because our bikes are stored in our warehouse until they are booked for rental.

  • How does an ebike operate?

All ebikes sold in North America are equipped with two ways for a rider to use power assistance from the motor to propel the bike forward without pedaling: a pedal assist system, and a throttle (twist grip).

  • How does Pedal Assist Work?

Pedal assist (PAS) can be engaged while pedaling and will call up assistance from the motor to help make pedaling easier.

PAS uses a cadence sensor built into the drive train of the bike. The sensor detects when the rider is revolving the pedals and signals the electric motor to provide the level of pedal assistance (PAS 0-5 on most models and 0-4) that has been selected.

  • How does the throttle work?

The throttle is located on the right side of the handlebar and can be used, with a twist of the throttle grip, to propel the bike forward without pedaling. On models released in 2020, the throttle is active when the bike is on.

The throttle is engaged by slowly and carefully rotating it toward the rider at different increments. The more you twist, the more powerful the throttle. Once the throttle is released or the brakes are applied, the power assistance from the motor is cut off and the throttle can no longer propel the bike forward. Always keep one hand on the brake lever and be prepared to squeeze the lever to disengage the throttle if needed, or turn off the bike to prevent accidentally engaging the throttle.
